The film submission due date for the “WHS Film Festival” is Tuesday, Feb. 28, by 11:59 p.m. Cost for submission is $10. Enter your original film to sponsor Alan Roemer for a chance to win $200. Second place winner will receive $100, and five $20 Starbucks gift cards will be for honorable mentions.

You can create any video from the following categories: feature film (movie or fictional story), Documentary (nonfiction, journalistic/newsworthy), music video (must be an original song), variety (youtube -style video), short (Tik-Tok style videos; less than 2 minutes,) animation, or a parody. The film can be no more than eight minutes long and made by a WHS student(s).

“The film can contain non-WHS students, but should primarily be WHS students,” said Roemer.

The film must be school appropriate (a faculty panel will review the films prior to the festival) and have a title with the filmmaker’s name at the beginning, and credits at the end with the names of all who helped in the film (directing, producing, acting, etc.) Not all submissions are guaranteed to be shown at the festival.

Roemer also said that any actors appearing in the film must sign a release to appear in the film.

To submit a film, complete the google form at and then turn in releases to Roemer in F105. No hard copies or downloaded files will be accepted. The film must also include a digital copy of closed captioning.

There is a $5 admission fee to attend the festival.
