All through out this season the wrestling team has done a spectacular job at representing Roo Pride and effort in one of the hardest sports in high school. The girls persevered through the season to become Region 1 Champions while the boys stayed undefeated and took 8th in Regionals.
This couldn’t have happened without their day in day out work put in every morning and afternoon practice. Also, this past weekend your Weatherford Wrestling Roos traveled to Houston to compete at the State Tournament to see how much of their work has paid off. We had Cole Fournier, Nate Moore, Travis Prince, Erin Mance, Precious Mason, Alex Herle, and Destiny Fry battle for the title at their weight classes.
Fournier placed 4th and Mason placed 6th, capping an amazing season for these athletic phenomes.
Coach Mance said, “We wrestled good, but not great. Although we did have a lot of people go, we still have to wrestle better. I’m not happy with the results, but I’m never happy” implying that next season will be more exciting and filled with more medals. Great season wrestlers!
