Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the third installment in Star Wars’s sequel trilogy, as well as the ninth and (supposed) final film in the Star Wars saga. The film is set shortly after the events of The Last Jedi, where Rey has honed her Jedi skills and become more in tune with the Force while Kylo Ren seeks guidance from an unexpected ally. The film sees the return of the characters we’ve come to know and love such as Finn, Poe, BB-8, and Chewbacca while bringing back older fan-favorites such as Lando Calrissian and Luke Skywalker, as well as introducing new characters such as Jannah Lando and Zorii Bliss. The Rise of Skywalker is also packed with action, drama, romance, and a few darker and more intense moments suited for older audiences.
Overall, Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker is the perfect ending to a near-perfect franchise as it ties everything together almost perfectly. This is a film that any Star Wars fan (who doesn’t hate the sequel trilogy) can enjoy thoroughly enjoy. Younger moviegoers might be frightened of some of the darker moments, but it shouldn’t detract from the experience for audiences who are more mature.
