• How are you involved at school?
I am involved at school through various clubs and activities. I have been involved with the Lady Roo Basketball team all four years of high school. When I am not playing basketball I am doing my school work, which has helped me get into other clubs. I am in Key Club, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and English National Honor Society. Also, I am involved in the PALs program at the high school, which helps me get involved with the younger generation at Weatherford.
• What advice do you have for an incoming 9th or 10th grader?
My advice for an incoming Freshman or Sophomore is to focus on your school work, but also have fun. You only have one high school career, so make the most of it. Make friends and have fun, while also dealing with your academic business to help you in your future endeavors.
• What does Roo Nation mean to you?
Roo Nation means a community full of support to me. Recently I tore my ACL during a basketball game and I have had nothing but support from everyone. All of my teachers, coaches, admin, and SROs have been nothing but kind to me and they are always checking in on me. It is very important to have a great community and support system and I think we definitely have that here at Weatherford.
• What has been your favorite memory while at WHS?
I don’t really have a favorite memory at WHS, I have a lot of moments that I love to remember and look back on. All of those moments are when I am with my team. Every time we are together we always have so much fun and there is never a dull moment.
• What are you looking forward to this year?
I am really looking forward to all the things I get to do as a Senior. Some of them I have already done, but I can’t wait to go to prom and to walk the stage at graduation, just finally see how all of my hard work has paid off.
• Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is my family. Not just my mom and dad, but also my sisters, my grandma, and my aunts. Everyone in my family is so strong and they have overcome so many adversities. Knowing that they have been through so much and still show up everyday and stay so strong inspires me everyday.
• What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to attend the University of the Ozarks in Arkansas. I am hoping to pursue Marine Biology, while also playing basketball for the school.
• Favorite quote(s)?
My two favorite quotes are my two favorite Bible verses. Philippians 4:13 ” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” and Psalms 46:5 ” God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at the break of day”
