Cheerleader. PALS. National Honor Society. Science National Honor Society.
Class President.
Marissa Hattox seems to do it all. How? Why? Here’s a Q&A with Hattox that talks about everything from her cheer competition to her plans for graduation (spoiler alert!) It’s Texas A&M.
How are you involved at the school?
I’m involved with many things : cheer, PALS, NhS, SNHS and I’m the senior class president.
What advice do you have for an incoming 9th or 10th grader?
My advice for underclassmen would definitely be to stay true to yourself. Hanging around people who aren’t healthy for you is one of the worst routes to go. By staying to yourself, you’ll be able to find life-long friends and be surrounded by people who care for you.
What does Roo Nation mean to you?
Roo Nation is a community, it represents how we all care for each other and have each other’s backs.
What has been your favorite memory while at WHS?
My favorite memory at WHS would definitely be at an away game last year that was rained out, the whole cheer team had to take shelter in a Rosa’s!
What are you looking forward to this year?
The thing I’m looking forward to the most is the cheer’s competition season! We have worked so hard so far, and I can’t wait for it to show on the mat.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is the person I want to be in the future. I want to achieve my goals and get where I want to be!
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan on going to A&M and pursuing a career in cybersecurity! Gig ’em!
