• How are you involved at school?
I am in band, belles, FCCLA, and pals. I am a section leader in band and I play the flute. I’ve been in band all four years of high school. I am the manager for the belles and I’ve done belles for three years. I am the FCCLA president and I have been involved in FCCLA for three years, last year I was the secretary.
• What advice do you have for an incoming 9th or 10th grader?
Have fun! Join as many clubs as you want, get involved! Try your best to stay organized to help succeed in your classes. Never be afraid to ask for help, your teachers are here to help you and support you. Be kind and respectful to everyone around you. Look for the positives in every situation!
• What does Roo Nation mean to you?
Roo nation to me means getting involved in my community and supporting even one. It means showing up to every event and giving it your all. It’s making friends that will last a lifetime.
• What has been your favorite memory while at WHS?
My favorite memory at WHS is last year when the band went to spring town to compete. We got to watch other bands perform and it was a lot of fun. Everyone was really focused and we made it to finals.
• What are you looking forward to this year?
I’m really looking forward to going to Waco to compete with FCCLA. This year I’m competing in food innovations, which I have not done before. It is always a fun experience to try new things and challenge myself.
• Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is my older sister Emma. She is always cheering me on and supporting me. She is my best friend and is always looking out for me and pushes me to do my absolute best.
• What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation I plan to go to The University Of Texas and major in youth and community studies.
