With only 10 days until Valentine’s Day, WHS students are eager to find a date for the big day, while some have already been lucky enough to! Seniors, McKenzie Braun and Ethan Newton, will have already been dating for 2 years and 10 months this Valentines Day! They met in 5th grade and started dating when they had Theatre together their freshman year, leading them to become one of the well-known couples of this school!
When asked what their favorite things are about each other was, Ethan answered “her serving heart” while McKenzie stated it was “the way he makes me laugh.”
Ethan and McKenzie excel in school, both members of the National Honor Society, McKenzie keeps up with the Baseball stats and is also in the Prom Committee. Between all of the homework, work hours, and extra-curricular activities they endure, they somehow manage to squeeze in time for each other. For instance, they enjoy “playing table top games with each other” Ethan said, “and netflix and chilling with a kid friendly chill”.
Ethan and Mckenzie are both apart of New River Fellowship youth and regularly attend each Sunday morning, most Wednesday nights, and have also accompanied the church on their mission trip last summer!
“One of our favorite dates were on our missionary trip to Belize”, said McKenzie.
Next fall, McKenzie plans to attend Blinn College in Brenham, Texas as Ethan hopes to attend Texas A&M University in College Station. Even though they will be living almost an hour away from each other, the High School Sweethearts intend on powering through a long distance relationship!
Stay tuned for the next WHS couple tomorrow! Happy Valentine’s Day!
