• How are you involved at school?
Over the last four years I have been heavily involved in FFA. I have served in multiple officer positions and shown lambs and goats across Texas! I am also on the superintendent advisory board with Dr. Rees as well as an active member of NTHS. Lastly this year I am so excited to be part of Roo Crew!
• What advice do you have for an incoming 9th or 10th grader?
I know everyone is going to tell y’all this but get involved, Weatherford High School has so much to offer from clubs to sports! High school is what you make of it, you only have four years here so live them to the fullest! I would not be where I am today if I had not stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new.
• What does Roo Nation mean to you?
I have been at four different schools from the time I was in kindergarten and Roo Nation has by far left the biggest impact on my life. I have been presented with so many opportunities to network, make new friends and have the best high school experience possible! Roo nation is more than just a school to me, I would never have become the person I am today without the support, engagement and overall spirit of Weatherford high school!
• What has been your favorite memory while at WHS?
My favorite memory at Weatherford high school has to be when we traveled to Houston for an FFA conference in the middle of a hurricane. While it was a bit scary bonding with my team and making memories that will last a lifetime made it a blast. I will always be able to look back and laugh at all the crazy things that happened that week from getting stuck in an elevator to playing board games in the basement of our hotel. Dr T even showed up to cheer us on!
• What are you looking forward to this year?
Being my senior year I feel like I have so much to be grateful for and look towards. I am the FFA president and cannot wait for all the fun events we have planned and to lead the amazing team we have put together for this year! I’m also so excited to be a part of Roo Crew and to cheer on Weatherford high school! Lastly I will be traveling to seven stock shows with my sheep across Texas and can’t wait to see all my hard work pay off.
• Who or what is your biggest inspiration?
It is really hard to pick just one person because I have such an amazing support team but if I had to pick I would say my mom. She has taught me so much from life skills to how to be the best version of myself. Her dedication and support inspires me everyday!
• What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation I plan to attend college for an animal science degree at either OSU or Tarleton. Also plan to work in a vet clinic as a vet tech while attending college!
