Spider webs are a staple of Halloween, up there with witches, skeletons, and ghouls. But not everyone has enough spiders to make a truly spectacular web for Halloween. Here’s a quick and easy way to make scary spider webs with two items you probably already have around the house.

All you need are:

  • Cotton balls (Bigger the better)

  • And hairspray (Preferably scentless, but if you want your webs to smell nice, it wouldn’t hurt!)

  1. First, take your cotton balls and start pulling them apart. You’re going to thin them out and make them look more web-like.

  2. While thinning out the cotton, occasionally spray it with the hair spray. This is going to make them sticky, which will help to build up the web. You might want gloves to keep your hands from getting sticky.

  3. Repeat the process, putting each new piece together to slowly build up to a giant, terrifying web!

Bonus tip!: If you want to make the web spookier, add in fake spiders!

(Caution: Cotton and hairspray is flammable so keep this away from heat.)
