This Friday will be the annual Weatherford Pink Out football game against North Crowley.
We hope students come out to support our football team, cheerleaders, and band. The theme for the game is Pink Out, so come in any pink clothing you have.
Pink Out is a yearly tradition at Weatherford High School in October, where we all come out wearing pink to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The pink color comes from the pink ribbon, the symbol of the people who have had or are currently fighting through breast cancer. Football player Bowen McKinnon said, “pink out shows Breast cancer awareness, and it reminds us of those close to us that have been affected by breast cancer.”
Cheerleader Samantha Vice said “it’s about honoring the people who have breast cancer. It’s important that we celebrate them, and it helps people with breast cancer look forward to something because they get to go to these games and they get to see that there are people there supporting them.”
The Pink Out has been a tradition not only for Weatherford, but many other high schools, colleges, and the NFL to show awareness for breast cancer. The game will start at 7pm, at the Kangaroo Football Stadium at the Ninth Grade Center, so show up in your pink outerwear to show awareness for the people fighting breast cancer, and support our fighting Roos!
