Fantastic start for the Lady Roos Volleyball Team! Weatherford Lady Roos Volleyball hosted an awesome Pancake Breakfast on Monday, September 7 from 8:00 to 10:00 at Hog’s Heaven Restaurant in Hudson Oaks. The money will support the volleyball program.
Lady Roos are playing hard this season, last week the Varsity Lady Roos won an intense game against Keller Timber Creek with the whooping scores of 25-14, 25-20, and 25-23! Late last week, suffering a loss to Keller Fossil Ridge in a best of 5 battle, top players included freshman London Gray, sophomores London Austin-Roark, Kaitlyn Rogers, and Gabbie Huggins, junior Lorena Antonio, the Roos get ready to battle on to district games.
When asked about the season, Varsity sophomore Kaitlyn Rogers said, “ Would it be bad if I said we’re really good? It’s a team thing.”
Clearly, the players think we are having an exciting season, as does the Coach. When interviewed, Coach Gonzales told us that we are already at 16-4 (at the time of the interview), meaning we are doing really well!
“Our offense is doing really well, and so is our defense as well, really! We compete really well with everybody that we play,” Gonzales said.
JV Lady Roos, and the 9th grade B-team got a bad break last week with Keller Timber Creek Tuesday night, but came back strong against Keller Fossil Ridge. They are expected to do very well this season. Congratulations to the 9th grade Lady Roo A-team and B-team, and JV Roos.
If you see any of the Lady Roos, be sure to congratulate them, and don’t forget to come out to support the team. The next games are here at home tonight! Go Roos!
