Weatherford High School will provide free college applications during the week of October 13, and the counselors are offering assistance when it comes to the process of going from high school to college.

The opportunity is made available through Apply Texas, a hub that centralizes the college application experience into one website. Between the 13th through the 19th of this month, students will have their fees waived for public Texas schools if they do so through Apply Texas.

Head Counselor Melanie Prince gives the following advice to seniors: “Start your college applications early, have all materials ready (transcripts, essays, etc.), follow each college’s instructions carefully, write honestly and proofread your work, and ask counselors for help if needed.”

Students are also incentivized to take advantage of this opportunity. If students confirm with their counselors that they applied during this week, they are entered into a raffle to win a gift basket valued at $75.
