The Weatherford High School Sophomore Class of 28’: the first thought that pops in your head may think of their sophomore friends or just one of their classes. But the most noticeable feature of the WHS Sophomore class has to be its impressive size in students.
The 2025 sophomore class being the largest in WHS history with currently over 720 sophomores!
School registrar Mrs. Poland explained that boundaries have expanded in our school district, causing Weatherford ISD to gain land all the way into Springtown and Granbury. More land means many more students will be coming to our school.
In fact, all classes are large this year. Weatherford is the biggest school district in Parker County!
Mrs. Poland in the counselors’ office said, “we have about 27 people per day that are moving into Parker County. That was last year.” This number could be more now, as Weatherford keeps growing. This includes elementary, middle, and high school students.
The counselors have made sure we are able to handle all of the Sophomores. Mrs. Poland said, “it’s a lot of work making sure that we have the staff ready.” Our counselors and GRIT has opened up many opportunities for our students, developing the people of our future one step at a time.
It’s a great year to be a sophomore Roo.
