Roo Cheer placed first among all participants at the NCA Texas Regional on Nov. 10 in Rockwall. The squad also received “Best Use of Props” and earned a bid to the NCA High School Nationals, which will be held January 24-25 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
Varsity cheerleader Selah Galindo shared that the experience was mentally challenging, especially with the nerves leading up to the competition. However, she focused on performing “how she did in practice, but better,” which helped her stay confident.
“Winning means that I worked hard enough, and it paid off,” Galindo said. “As a team, it shows that we put in the effort together and really showed up.”
The squad’s dedication to building stamina and consistency through countless repetitions of their competition routine paid off, and they are thrilled to perform at Nationals. Their next competition is at Marcus High School on December 8.
