Dr. T told jokes and offered a final “Roo Reminder,” Salutatorian McKenna Hughes was insightful and funny, and Valedictorian Jackson Stewart was poignant and heartfelt. Yet the highlight of WHS Graduation 2024 was the tossing of caps in the air, along with the sound, and sight, of fireworks in the back ground. And what caps they were. Some touted the colleges seniors are headed to (Texas A&M, Tarleton) others had military service logos (The Army, the Navy), and a few were decked out with flowers (Not real ones, we don’t think). Most, however, were messages, such as this one: “For My Parents Who Came With Nothing, But Gave Me Everything.” That was senior Rose Ruiz, who is from Puerto Rico. The cap that closed out the night was, “Welcome To The Final ’24 Show.” Indeed.
