The Weatherford High School cross country team gave a strong performance last Saturday at the Decatur Reunion Run in Decatur, TX.  The event marked the season’s best time for each of the team’s female participants, and included strong performances by the men’s team as well.

The varsity girls placed third as a team, while the junior varsity girls landed in sixth place.  The girls had several competitors medal, with sophomore Alyssa Wilson and junior Mady Young receiving medals for fouth and tenth place.

The varsity boys came in fourth place overall, with senior John Bessire receiving a medal for seventh place.  The JV boys also placed eighth as a team.

Coach Wood was pleased with the performance her team gave on Saturday, and she happily said, “They ran fast.”

The WHS cross country team will attend their next meet on October 17 at Brewer High School in Fort Worth, TX.  The event will be what Wood calls a “district warm-up meet” with other district competitors in attendance.
