Dear NGC Students and Families,

I hope this letter finds you rested and re-energized! Hopefully, this summer has given you the opportunity to take a break for yourselves and your family. Our first school day, August 27th, is just around the corner, and we are working hard to get prepared for you. Our commitment is to partner with you this school year to make the first year of your high school journey a success.

As the Class of 2016, we invite you to the very unique experience at the Ninth Grade Campus. It is a time to start a new adventure, make new commitments, and become an active member in your own learning process. Starting this year, the choices you make for yourself will greatly impact your journey through Weatherford High School and your future. My hope is that four years from now each of you will find yourself walking across the stage, hearing your name called aloud, and becoming a Weatherford High School graduate.

What am I asking of you this year? My challenge for you is the same challenge I have for the teachers and other staff members of the NGC…”Cross the Line.”  Don’t worry, this challenge is not just something I am asking of everyone else, it is a challenge that I am taking myself. A challenge that not only applies to our school, but to our lives. If you are interested in learning more about crossing the line, please go to the following website and click on “watch the video.” You can watch the video for free!

On a final note, I would like to make you aware of an exciting collaboration that our district has created this year. One of our goals this year is to align the instructional focus and practices for the Ninth Grade Campus with the main campus of Weatherford High School, so that our students make a seamless transition to the 10-12 campus. When you hear Weatherford High School, it means grades 9-12.  When you look online for NGC news you will see news from our main campus as well. We will work hard to continue to communicate events for Weatherford High School and specifically the NGC campus. We are thrilled about this change and cannot wait for you to arrive!

We are committed to making this year great and helping you achieve a high standard of excellence. Please join us in that commitment. We look forward to seeing you on schedule pick up day August 15th. Please see the other side of this letter for times and information.

Will you cross the line?

Enjoy your last few weeks off!
