On October 18, the Fightin’ Roo Marching Band competed in the UIL Region VII Marching Contest in Burleson, TX. The band received it’s eighth consecutive first division rating.

Head band director James Buckner is excited about the success the band has had, and he expects even more improvement before the next competition.

“I thought the band had an excellent performance Saturday,” Buckner said. “We’ve got some minor improvements and adjustments to make this week, and hopefully we will have our very best performance at Area on the 25^th.”

The students were also pleased with the way they performed.

“I think we did really well,” sophomore color guard member Amanda Mollard said. “We worked really hard.”

The Fightin’ Roo band will perform this coming Saturday at the UIL Area Marching Contest in Bedford.
